In 1961, the BVI National Park Trust was founded to protect the heritage & culture of the BVI and is responsible for maintaining the 21 parks. From shipwrecks to rainforests, there are many National Parks to choose from – on land or in water!

There are some great Hikes through the tropical rainforest for those energetic crew members who want to stretch their boat-bound legs, with some amazing views as a reward!

  • Sage Mountain on Tortola was formed in 1964 & boasts 12 walking trails for you to enjoy. It is the highest point in the BVI & US Virgin Islands! You will notice 2 very different types of vegetation as you explore.
  • Gorda Peak on Virgin Gorda has several trails. On a clear day, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire BVI. The Park is home to the Virgin Gorda Lizard, the worlds smallest Gecko (as well as several endangered plant species).

Explore the sandy beaches, hidden areas and pools nestled amongst giant granite boulders at The Baths & Devils Bay National Park (Virgin Gorda). It is one of the most photographed spots in the BVI!

You can Scuba Dive or Snorkel on the Wreck of the RMS Rhone, which was lost during a hurricane in 1867. In 1980 it was established as a protected area, helping to preserve the abundance of marine life and corals.

These are just a few of our favourites! Be sure to check out the rest of the National Parks areas.
